Right from the old times of MGR, Sivaji or even before that, the role of a villain in a Tamil movie has never changed. In case it does it might be under 2 circumstances; either another big star accepts to play a role with grey shades or the hero himself plays a dual role as villain.
The villain is more ethical and civilized than the so called hero most of the time. I will tell you how; both hero and villain might love the same girl but that stupid creature will love hero cause he is the hero and hate villain cause he is villain. I have never found a better reason than this in a movie.
Mr.Villain might even treat his fair lady with all due respect while The Hero kisses,romances,comments about her dress and assets,at times undress her a bit all in the name of romantic sequences. (This is where you or the villain himself should day "ENNA KODUMA SIR IDHU!!!")
Another sample for the Villain's nobility is even if he is very close to rape the heroine (at times even if the heroine is ready!?!?) he shall not do it right then. He shall utilize the time either in expressing his love for her or abusing the hero or simple giving some strange sounds. He starts the work just after he hears the hero's footsteps and before he could do anything gets beaten up to death.If the villain is supposed to be the heroine's dad he doesn't even gets this chance. (AAGA MOTHAM AVAN ENDHA AANIYAYUM PUDUNGA MAATAAN!!!)
Lets talk about this action... He has an amazing ability of missing the hero even if the gun point is inside his nose. He shall fire even 10 rounds but still not a single scratch on the hero. But when hero has the gun he's dumb enough to kill the villain right on the head even with a single bullet. All these villains are gutsy fellows that even if the hero is empty handed and they are fully equipped they drop everything and fight him and get beaten to death.
Even after several decades they still fall for the oldest trick on book told by hero,"Mr.Villain you might have the gun but i have the bullets" The disappointed villain throws it down and starts fighting again. Innocent chaps!!! Whatever you say when it comes to sidekicks and girl friends they do have an impressive taste and collection. History now returns with villains in swimming pools enjoying with his girl friends. :-)
While Late Nambiar,Asokan,R.S Manohar cursed the heroes on screen in recent times especially after Vijay needless to say all the villains praise the hero on their behalf. We see many David's slaying Goliaths on screen nowadays. The most funniest part is when a born criminal like villain changes his heart within a minute after hero's advice. (NEEYELLAM MANUSANAE ILLA THERIYUMAA!!!)
Now who needs to see the Mad Joker of Dark Knight or Villains from Bond movies or any other Hollywood buff when we have these gentlemen here.
